Codenme: Day of Reckoning

Are you worried about Climate Change?

Concerned about Human Rights?

Angry about Politics or maybe Confused about Religion?

You are?

Well don't be!

Because the end of the world is coming... and it's travelling at 40,000 Miles per second

Codename: Day of Reckoning. Survivors only need apply

BRIEF SYNOPSIS

In 2019, a rougue meteor is sighted on a collision course with Earth. All attempts to divert the course of the meteor are foiled by THE HAND OF GOD, a terrorist group based in asia.

The contingency plan, codename: Day of Reckoning, is to safely house upto 1 million people in special underground cities called NESTS. The 3 NESTS located in the USA were adapted nuclear bunkers dug into the limestone hills of Missouri. Other countires spent the last months before the meteor's arrival constructing their NESTS.

Attached to each NEST is a network of military Survey Camps. These camps house specially trained CoNDoR teams that have been put into Cryogenic Stasis to survive the impact winter. Their goal is to be awakend 5 years after the impact, gather up survivers and lead the to the NESTS.

The survey camps house upto 40 military and 5 science personnel. The camps are also built deep underground with a large, central hydraulic lift to bring staff and equipment to the surface. The camps are to serve as a base of operations for the individual CoNDoR teams. Lower levels consist of barracks, shower rooms and recreation areas.

The meteor impacts Earth on 25th Dec 2020. Within 48 hours less than 20% of the world's population are left alive.

Death and distruction is not the only thing that the meteor brings with it!

I found your site from ENWorld and am glad I stopped by. The "teaser" for Day of Reckoning has me salivating for the game to come out: it reminds me of a cross of Lucifer's Hammer and the materials in the original Gamma World boxed set. Unfortunately, I guess that marks me as really old.

Are you going to be releasing any more information about the game mechanics/world setting, etc. as you get closer to the publication date? I have always had a fondness for d100 systems and I'm glad to see someone going a route other than d20 if for nothing other than variety. At any rate, the teaser looks very promising and I can't wait to see more!

Welcome to the forums Ajax23 :D

I have always been a huge fan of apocalyptic themed RPGs Gamma World, which I still have here, and Morrow Project being my favourites (guess that makes me old too)

We will be releasing a lot more information in the near future and keep the web page as up to date as is humanly possible.

There is going to be player’s and Game Director’s sections added to the forums. Obviously there will be serious spoiler alerts posted all over the place. The player experience will be effected if they know what the GD only is supposed to know about the running of the game, twists, potential plots etc.

A lot of time, effort and research has gone into every aspect of the game. We have a serving CO as our military advisor; Dr J Melosh, a leading scientist on meteor impacts and effects from the USA has acted as scientific advisor during the early stages of development; detailed firearm rules and a mechanic for making just about any gun you can think of (or invent) are included in the equipment section along with an illustration of the weapons used by the CoNDoR teams; new character generation and development rules which serve as a base for role playing (you can get as complex or simple with your character as you like)… and lots more that I will post on here in the very near furure.

Having seen just a smattering of the rules so far, I can confirm that they are VERY detailed and accurate. Jamie is not exaggerating when he says a lot of research has gone into it!

Ive just been reading the blurb about this and liking what im seeing.

Always interested in new games and ones that take a real life/science view to the development of the setting.

Any ideas as to when your release date will be yet, I know how they can be flexible and move around working for other companies myself.

Rog.
